While. working for Mark this year I was exposed to the inner workings of the Irish government and was able to participate in a variety of assignments that accentuated and strengthened my studies while abroad in Ireland.  My assignments included organizing constituency databases in order to institute a mass text messaging system in the government, drafting a proposal for legislation regarding organ donation in Ireland, and observing committee meetings.  This opportunity allowed me to become engaged in Irish politics during such a transitory and exciting period in global history, and through this experience I was able to build comparisons between Irish and American foreign policy.

Overall, volunteering for Mark opened my eyes to the world of politics and through this I have become more engaged and active in foreign politics and affairs.
