THE ORDER TO OPEN CROMANE FOR MUSSEL SEED WILL BE SENT OUT TODAY BY MINISTER TONY KILLEEN STATES CLLR. MICHAEL CAHILL & SENATOR MARK DALY

Over the last number of days, Cllr Michael Cahill and Senator Mark Daly have organised a number of meetings.

On Friday, representatives of the Cromane Mussels farmers met with Minister Noel Dempsey. On Saturday morning, the group met with An Taoiseach when he was in Killarney canvassing for the Lisbon Treaty.

"In this economic climate this is vital for employment " stated Senator Daly.

Cllr. Michael Cahill who has been working tirelessly on the issue since last year's mussel season states "I am delighted with this result. It is important for Cromane and important for jobs in Kerry".
